3 Apr 10, Feast of Fools, Lyndhaven

Show just this event

Greetings everyone, from Lord Conogan mab Rioc!

I am very pleased to announce the seventh Feast of Fools will be held in the Shire of Lyndhaven on Saturday, April 3rd. The specific location will be at the Lindsay Valley lodge in Oromocto. I will be the autocrat for the event.

The hall will open at 5 pm, and the feast will start at 6:30. After the feast, we will have music, dancing, and some foolishness! We will have at least one "official" fool in attendance, and hopefully more!

The fee for the event is $10 for adults (14 and older), and $5 for children and youth (13 and younger). Babes-in-arms are free. U.S. cash will be accepted at par, but no U.S. cheques can be accepted. Please register for the event by Saturday, March 27th, so the kitchen knows the number of attendees.

The feast will be prepared by the lovely and talented Lady Mariota of Kildare. She has many delicious items planned, and some surprises!

The event will be dry. No animals are allowed, except service animals. All candles must be in non-combustible containers (i.e. no wooden candle stands).

Event attendees are encouraged to revel in the spirit of foolishness! I would love to hear from anyone who wishes to actually perform as a fool before, during, or after the feast.

Yours in Service,
Lord Conogan mab Rioc, the Breton

Preparing for Campaign

As the frost and snow of winter abate, we are reminded of the preparations for the upcoming campaigning season. Our Baronial Rapier Champion will soon be ready to pass his mantle of responsibility to a worthy warrior.

Lord Guthfrith Yrlingson has agreed to hold this rapier championship on April 10th at Weir Field in Upper Sackville. Our gracious champion has also acquiesced to allow me to organize an event for us all to enjoy the tournament he will develop to choose his successor!

Master Gilbert has offered to hold Youth Combat. We will have a games corner for those who prefer less physically challenging sport.

After youth combat, there will be an area set aside, with supplies, for our young medieval architects to build their own battlements to remember this year’s BRC.

There will be an area for an A&S display for all gentles to show us the work of their winter months.

Merchants are welcome, we will make areas available to you, please contact the autocrat prior to the registration deadline.

So, come one, come all to the Baronial Rapier Championship on Saturday, April 10th. We will have youth combat in the morning, sideboard and feast prepared by the Saucy Kitchen Crew, helmed by Lady Juliana d’Aragon. Lady Juliana informs me that she is preparing a day of food that will show us what our warriors would eat while on campaign… hmm… what WILL she come up with??

In preparation of the upcoming campaigning season, Lord Algernon has agreed to host a class for archers, to teach and help them get their archery gear in order.

There will, of course, be Baronial Court at Their Excellencies command. And…

Yes, Brianna, there will be dancing.
